At It Again...

Couldn't help myself. After walking this morning I was reviewing in my mind some of the last minute items I need to locate before Goat Hill happens. As I've not done a show like this before - I've got lots of reviewing to do! I talk to myself daily... out loud even! I write lists upon lists. Doesn't seem much is being crossed off those lists! Anywho.... on my list of TO-DO's was to FIND more hangers. Would be simple enough if I weren't being specific picky about what type of hanger. They've got to be just soooo.

So, I did it - I stepped back in to a second hand shop. Even though I've declared that I'm not hunting for treasure. I'm supposedly full to the gills with FINDS. I'm not in need of any further Goat Hill stock, says she!  Nonetheless I came home with a boatload of goodies.

Barely had time to snap a shot of them. In fact these are hardly worth mentioning. The rest of the loot was already tucked inside boxes and itemized on lists, so I simply could not pull them out to show you.

Not such a good angle on this picture... that chair is RUSTIC PERFECT! soooo sweet! Can you tell that those two hat boxes are a beautiful shade of turquoise? The torn up and rusted screen is also a vintagey Jade-ite hue.Seems that I've got a color scheme going on for the show. Greens, blues and every spectrum in betwixt! Don't forget the yellow! It's all captured masterfully in this sunflower oil painting I picked up awhile back. Can you see it in this next shot?

I'd bet that the painting will find a home on my walls, rather than a Fair customer's shopping basket!

This basket looked just as it is - SO FRESH and PRETTY when I pulled it from the car. Just had to take it's picture. That sunflower head has a place in my tent at Goat Hill... along with many more dried flowers. Accumulated many of them today as well.

Oh Give Me A Home, or Tent, On The Prairie...

Does Rue des Prairies mean - Street of the Prairie in french?? I took it to mean that. Thus why I photographed this sign. I would of brought it home with me if it had cost a good hundred dollars less....

Want to see our "prairie"??

Before the Goat Hill Fair....

Before the hoopla.....

Before the beauty (hopefully) that will be ~ Abundant Finds....

Here's the aisle - RUE  - if you will, through the "prairie"...

My tent will placed right here >

This tree will be at the backside of my space and I'll keep the tent open all the way through so that guests can sit under the tree in the shade. I'll have some outdoor items placed there for sale. The Fair has gotten larger with more vendors and another rue street has been added.

I do believe we're gonna have us a great hoedown!

Delightful Dahlias

For a little less than a year, Hubby & I  fulfilled one of our dreams and lived at the beach. Our time was split between living one week in the city cottage, and the following week at the beach condo. The community at the coast is pretty, historic, walkable, surfy and touristy. While playing beach combing-resident I wasn't employed so I was able to be a tourist-in-my-own-town during the day.

The village of Capitola is in the background of the picture above. It sits on the cliffs where the grove of eucalyptus are clumped at the tip of peninsula. California ocean breezes. Warm golden sun and sunsets. Fog oft times too. Tide pool searching, miles of sand strolling.

Along one of my walking routes there was a home with attached gardens that bloomed profusely in the summer with dahlias. The sun-worn matriarch gardeness was named Milly. She would invite you to come have a look inside if she were out tending. I would walk up to the gate and enter... well, enter cautiously as she had some dogs. What a beautiful sight the rows of dahlias made.

Milly in all of her glory...

I've made an annual pilgrimage to the dahlias.

Dependant on how many buds she had blooming you could get Milly to cut you 6, 8, 10 stems then she'd charge you a small amount and even put the show-stoppers in a glass vessel filled with water! I love the journey over the hill to visit this grand gal and her garden of delight!

One of the FINDS of a lifetime!!

Farm Visit

Went to see the goats again. My how they've grown. So has this fella  ~

resident BMOC

The goats will be penned right near our tents for the Fair. That makes me happy. They're quite a bunch of silly nannys!

Countdown has begun. We were at the farm on exactly one month til the show date! And I'm sorta feelin' like this guy....

Alone?
Out in left field?
With lots of room to grow?
On top of the world?
Looking out to the forest and pondering which path?

ALL OF THE ABOVE!!

Fall Flowers

Chrysanthemums ~

A quintessential autumnal bloom.....  well, maybe not when they're made from painted metal ~

I found a pair of these at Goodwill -while hunting awhile back ....

What do you think?? Too 1960's? or can you find the potential, just like me??? I've seen similar on a blog that I read. So I guess someone, somewhere is a fan.
